Third Grade

Third-graders learn many new things as they prepare for the upcoming intermediate grades. Students complete their Metropolitan Achievement Test (MAT), participate off-site in the Marathon for Non-Public Education for the first time, go roller-skating with the 'BIG KIDS' during Catholic Schools' Week, and are invited to lead the music during liturgies.

In math, students learn the fundamentals of multiplication and division and enjoy a banana-split party to celebrate their hard work and new knowledge. In reading, third-graders are encouraged to read chapter books and create their first book projects, including a character trait box and diorama.

Students begin playing a recorder in music as they learn proper finger placement and how to read notes. Highlights in religion include participation in new service learning activities as well as the annual Saint Report and Parade!
